Ingredients
  • pounds local farm-fresh green beans trimmed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1-9 -ounce-package Louisiana – Chicken Batter Mix
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Peanut oil for frying
Instructions
  1. Wash farm fresh green beans in cold water to remove any debris, trim ends of each green bean.
  2. Place 1/2 of a cup all-purpose flour in a large plastic Ziploc bag, divide green beans x 2
  3. In a plastic bowl mix 1/3 of a cup of the Louisiana chicken fry batter with the 1/2 cup of water.
  4. Place 1 cup of dry of the Louisiana chicken fry batter in a large Ziploc bag.
  5. Add 1/2 of the green beans to the Ziploc bag with all-purpose flour and shake to coat the green beans thoroughly, place flour coated green beans in wet batter, repeat with the other part of green beans.
  6. Place the coated green beans in the large Ziploc bag with the dry Louisiana chicken fry batter, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, kosher salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Shake to coat the green beans thoroughly.
  7. Deep fry the coated green beans at 325 degrees F until golden brown.
  8. Drain excess peanut oil off the green beans by placing them on a wire bakers rack for a few minutes before to serving.
  9. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
