Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound mild ground sage sausage
  • 8- ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 Jalapeno minced seeds removed, optional
  • 2 packages crescent rolls

Instructions
 

  • Cook mild ground sage sausage until completely browned, drain all the excess oil from sausage in a colander.
  • Combine 8-ounces of softened cream cheese with cooked mild ground sausage, 1 small onion finely diced, and 2 jalapeño peppers that have been minced.
  • Open 2 packages of crescent roll and place each one flat on non-stick baking sheets, you will probably need 2.
  • Place about a tablespoon or so of the cream cheese and sausage mixture towards the wider end of the crescent roll, roll as instructed on the back of the crescent roll can.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees, for about 11-13 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Cool, the Easy to make Sausage & Cream Cheese Crescents on a baking rack.

    I made this recipe for Christmas morning, and the entire family loved it. I didn’t have jalapeno peppers but had red chilies I used instead. We will be saving it to make again.

    These turned out awesome!
    FYI: the original recipe was on jimmy dean sausage recipe page years ago (no longer on there, but it was slightly different:
    1 lb ground sausage of your choice hot or mild, 1 8oz cream cheese, 1 cup diced green peppers, 1 cup diced sweet onions, (1 cup jalapeno dice if you like) fry the sausage peppers, onions in skillet salt pepper to taste, drain really well then mix w/cream cheese in a bowl. Grease an 8×8 pan, then line the pan bottom & sides w/crescent rolls, then pour & smooth the filling mix in on the crescent rolls then top w/a layer of the crescent rolls, bake 350 for 30 min or until golden brown. Double the recipe for a 9×13 pan. But I like your recipe here for the individual rolls too. We will be making your recipe again!
