What could be more comfortable to make than Sausage and Cream Cheese Crescents? This recipe has been around in the Southern States for quite some time. I got this recipe from my favorite sister-in-law on the day of my niece’s Katelynn wedding.
You can make these Easy to make Sausage and Cream Cheese Crescents have individual servings if you like or like my sister-in-law, Angie, does by just laying one can of Crescents rolls out and then adding the Sausage and cream cheese filling on the top of the Crescent roll dough and then top with the second can of Crescent rolls.
Family Weddings can be magical and nerve-racking for brides and mothers of the brides-to-be, yet I have to tell you, Angie sure pulled off an excellent breakfast that morning with that delicious casserole of Easy to make Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents.
I don’t think one bit was left at the bottom of that casserole dish the morning of Katelynn’s wedding day. We were like hungry little vultures sitting at her table, pecking away at our breakfast. Did you just vision vultures pecking at their plates?
I’m not 100% sure where Angie initially found the Easy to Make Sausage and Cream Cheese Crescents recipe. I’ve seen the recipe float around Pinterest and on the web a few times, browsing; the most popular listing on Google seems to be from Pillsbury.com. I’m just thrilled she served it to us that morning because they were deliciously tasty, in my opinion.
I decided this morning to share this wonderful recipe my sister-in-law made with Y’all, so you could judge for yourself one morning just how tasty and straightforward these bad babies are. Heck, if you are in the South, you might have already had or even made them; if you have, let me know in the comment section below, as I love hearing from you all.

This was a great recipe, and I wish I had doubled the recipe!
Thank you, Jeanette! I apologize for the late response!
I made this recipe for Christmas morning, and the entire family loved it. I didn’t have jalapeno peppers but had red chilies I used instead. We will be saving it to make again.
That sounds wonderful, Latisha!
These turned out awesome!
FYI: the original recipe was on jimmy dean sausage recipe page years ago (no longer on there, but it was slightly different:
1 lb ground sausage of your choice hot or mild, 1 8oz cream cheese, 1 cup diced green peppers, 1 cup diced sweet onions, (1 cup jalapeno dice if you like) fry the sausage peppers, onions in skillet salt pepper to taste, drain really well then mix w/cream cheese in a bowl. Grease an 8×8 pan, then line the pan bottom & sides w/crescent rolls, then pour & smooth the filling mix in on the crescent rolls then top w/a layer of the crescent rolls, bake 350 for 30 min or until golden brown. Double the recipe for a 9×13 pan. But I like your recipe here for the individual rolls too. We will be making your recipe again!
Thanks, Sandra! I appreciate you letting me know.
Left out the jalapeno… not a spicy fan. But they are amazing!
Thank you for the feedback Kelly and I am glad you enjoyed the recipe.
No shame in that Kelly! I completely understand.
Thanks for sharing!
Can I freeze them after they are baked to reheat at a later date?
Hello Heather, you can freeze them–however, I would not bake them as long—cut the time a few minutes so they are not too brown when reheated.
I wonder how’d they taste with some scrambled eggs on the sausage?
My mom makes something similar with eggs, I believe she undercooked the eggs before adding them so they wouldn’t taste rubbery. It’s also was good!!
