What exactly is The The Liebster Award you might be wondering now? It is a way to spotlight the smaller blogs and give them some much deserved love. So what do you do when you receive this FANTASTIC award? You answer the “get to know you” questions provided by your nominator, in addition to 11 fun facts so your readers can get to know you a little better and finally you nominate your own favorite small blogs! Jessica’s Questions for us

Q. Why did you start blogging?

A. I was having a lot of personal issues with my spouse, and I guess feeling pretty left out of his NEW found life, with NEW found friends. I wanted to keep busy, maybe it was to not notice how badly my marriage was crumbling. I felt all my cares start to wash away when I was busy doing what I loved the MOST. I love cooking! I have to say it has been my salvation over the past 6 months.

Q. What are three kitchen utensils you can not live without?

A. My favorite knife, egg slicer, and microplane zester . I love these items and would be totally lost without them.

Q. Where do you see your blog in 5 years?

A. This blog is very NEW, so in five years— I see it blossoming in to a majestic journey of learning, and fond memories of all the wonderful leaps and bounds we have taken at The Patch.

Q. What is your favorite beverage?

A. I LOVE coffee!

Q. If you could meet anyone, alive or passed, who would it be?

A. I am SUCH a HUGE fan of Vintage Actors and Actresses… I would have to say Jayne Mansfield, Marilyn Monroe, and Hedy Lemarr.

Q. What is your favorite blog post?

A. I don’t really have an all time favorite. I’m in mom mode with my blog, I love each one equally–the Good, BAD, and the Ugly. TRUST there are a few “ugly” from the beginning of our journey.

Q. Other than blogging, what do you enjoy doing with your time?

A. Family time is HUGE in my book , cooking of course, reading, and LOTS of Vintage Shopping.

Q. What is your dream vacation?

A. If I had my way, I would love to get on a sailboat– and see the entire world.

Q. What is one skill you wish you had?

A. I wish I were more artistic… My stick figures need work.

Q. Sweet, salty or spicy?

A. Spicy!!! I love, love, love Spicy— Did I mention I love spicy???

Q. What is your favorite (or most addicting) form of social media?

A. I love Pinterest–we should get married. “Pinterest? Will you marry me?”

11– Random facts about me…

1. My first name is spelled H-E-I-D-Y, which is a South American/Latin spelling of Heidi.
2. My middle name is Linn, and I am actually named after my Uncle Linn–True story folks
3. I was born on my mother’s Birthday –June 2, 1972 (My mothers is June 2, 1942)
4. I am a HUGE–super HUGE fan of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks!!!!
5. I adore ALL things Vintage!… I actually still have my Great Grandmothers Bedroom set from the 20’s (perfect condition)
6. We have an extensive fish collection, that my husband has from imported from Thailand.
7. I seldom eat candy— WHY? Because when I do it’s the entire bag–SO I never keep it in the house.
8. I am a Coffee addict— I drink it at 1 am if you don’t watch me.
9. I love to go Para-sailing and have been Skydiving … Yet, I am afraid to get on a step-ladder—-yeah I know odd huh?
10. I used to run a Ozzy Osbourne webpage, from 1998 to 2005 …. Another favorite musician of mine.
11. I am claustrophobic— To an EXTREME!
